Like its adjacent Limestone Coast neighbour Coonawarra, the Wrattonbully wine region is blessed with Terra rossa soil and a climate perfect for producing premium wines. The 2002 vintage is the second release of Stone Coast Wines and the long, warm autumn produced ideal ripening conditions for the grapes.

This limited release Shiraz was hand made in open 5 tonne fermenters and matured for 18 months in a combination of new and old American and French oak barrels. The resulting wine is powerful yet restrained, showing toasty oak and black fruit characters and a soft, round mouth filling finish. The resulting wine is elegant and beautifully structured, showing refined oak and varietal fruit characters. The finish is soft and fulfilling.
